Bearing in mind our principle of developing sustainable natural products for a better world, we recognize that our business activities are closely related not only to our immediate surroundings but also to the global environment. We are therefore working hard at protecting the environment based on the implementation of our environmental policy.
From the 2005 fiscal year, we have made an effort to reduce our CO2 emissions by operating a biomass power generation business fueled by the by-products left over after the distillation of tall oil ,yield from pine trees. We have also worked at reducing waste and increasing our rate of recycling. In the 2006 fiscal year, we achieved zero emission status. Our aim now is to minimize the environmental impact of the entire company.
Ever since it was founded, Harima Chemicals, Inc. has attached great importance to recycling- based business. Not only do we comply with environmental legislation, but we also have a strong sense of ethics regarding our duty to society and take environmental concerns very seriously in our business activities.
