As a pine chemicals manufacturer, we aim to help people familiarize with this domain and Harima itself, in ways other than through regular business.
In this regard, we organize tours at the Kakogawa Plant in Hyogo Prefecture, Japan (with approx. 500 visitors annually), and the premises have been beautified with over 350,000 marigolds and transformed into a place for the local community and other visitors to gather and share.

Ever since its opening in 2019, the marigold garden saw events such as Halloween and Christmas being celebrated here, and catching the attention of the press, together with enthusiastic reactions on social media. Nature, tradition, and events bring people together and build a stronger sense of belonging. Harima will continue to look into ways to actively contribute and bring cheer to the locality.

In December, the marigold garden gets dressed for Christmas! With fir-trees of over 4m decked with presents and a wide array of lights and self-made decorations, the site changes into a truly festive area, much to the delight of visitors.

In October, we get ready for Halloween; together with the vibrant orange flowers, the marigold garden is filled with seasonal decorations and fairy-tale figurines, for a truly magical experience.

In May, the site celebrates the tradition of Children’s Day, with sets of carp-shaped windsocks flown in honor of children for a good future and in the hope that they will grow up healthy and strong.

[Harima Daffodil Lane] Project

In 2021, a new beautification project was started around the premises of the factory: spanning over 173 meters along the road, a host of more than 2,000 daffodils were planted by our employees. 33 enthusiasts made their own choice of color and type, and bedded over 60 bulbs in patches of 5 meters. The sunny, cheerful daffodils are in full glow from January, welcoming passers-by and visitors alike.

Known for its magnificent carpet of marigolds, Kakogawa is now the talk of the community in the cold seasons as well, when marigolds are not in bloom. Unlike marigolds, daffodils are perennial plants that naturalize well and blossom year after year.
