Harima received Kosher Certification from KLBD in July, and Halal Certification from the Japan Muslim Association (assessed by partner Shariah Research Institute of Takushoku University) in October, for the products manufactured at our myrcene plant at Kakogawa, Japan. In operation as of April 2023, this is Harima's first plant of this kind in Japan. A key ingredient in aroma oils and fragrances, myrcene is obtained from the pinene compound of turpentine, a natural substance extracted from pine trees. These certifications reaffirm Harima's commitment to best serve a diverse range of customers and markets, with the two certifications designed to provide reassurance and attest that products are in full compliance with the precepts of the Jewish, and the Islamic law, respectively.

KLBD
Headquartered in London, KLBD is Europe's largest and one of the world's leading Kosher agencies. Its activities spread over 70 countries, with more than 2,000 companies and over 50,000 products certified. Harima's certification was obtained with the cooperation of Japan-based Yama Mizrach, a supporter of Kosher certification acquisition in the country.
