Tall Oil Rosin

Tall oil rosin is obtained from distilling* crude tall oil* which is a by-product of the kraft pulp making process.
Harima Chemicals is the only commercial producer of tall oil rosin in Asia.
*Distillation: A method of separating components using differences in boiling point
*Crude tall oil: The term tall oil comes from the Swedish word Talloja which means pine oil

Gum Rosin

Gum rosin is obtained (separated from turpentine) by distilling* crude gum collected from live pine trees.
*Distillation: A method of separating components using differences in boiling point

Wood Rosin

Wood rosin is obtained by the solvent extraction of wood chips from pine stumps that is then distilled*. Wood rosin is hardly produced at present.
*Distillation: A method of separating components using differences in boiling point
